Picture dealer and restorer Genaro Domizio was born in Naples. Having settled in London in 1782, he came to prominence in the early 1790s as a picture dealer and restorer. As a dealer Domizio advertised his exhibition of pictures by celebrated Italian masters at no. 47 Brewer Street in April 1791. In June, he announced that he was taking a commodious house at no. 4 Broad Street with ample room for showing Old Masters, the entrance being at no. 62 Poland Street. Late in January 1792, it was advertised that Domizio was leaving the country and that his collection of pictures, prints and drawings would be sold at his exhibition room in Poland Street.
